Guided meditations are an excellent way to bring balance to the mind and the body. Playing soft music or burning essential oils in the meditation area are great enhancements to the meditation itself. A successful guided meditation will clear the mind of outside influence and focus on the imagery provided. Positive affirmations may also be incorporated with guided meditations. The positive affirmation that I choose today and posted on my Facebook Wall was "I know that help is available for me to complete my dreams!"
The Love and Kindness exercise is one of my personal favorites. I have practiced this one for quite awhile. I know that others know that I must participate in something like this because I am frequently asked how I can remain so calm, collected, and patient with others when I have this many children (I have four). I share with them, if they choose to have the time what it is that allows me this ability to ride the waves so smoothly.

I can relate to you so well. I have three children of my own and teach a class of 17 three year olds. Many people tell me that I must have patience in order to deal with that on a daily basis.I guess I have a naturally sweet and loving spirit that flows over everyoone and becomes a part of them. Loving-kindness is a wonderful exercise and many people can benefit from it, especially those who are filled with hatred. However, in order for this to happen we must first love ourselves.

ReplyDeleteI find myself sometimes look to other just to see how the world around them is going in the head, happy to say i like what I read from yours, I to enjoy the clamness of meditation althought sometimes I fight to gt there. I have found due to my training and understand what I am getting myself into helps that alott. Being able to understand what next for you, or just haveing some control over were you are going is for me the key, more than that just being able to have the keys drive my train. Starting with one self can make things a hell of alot easy when dealing with the world as a whole. Being able to focus that to other is a trick but if you can do it it make for a better place for you and others, plus we have to start somewere, home is always good for me.
Lindsey I agree with you, I use music to help myself sooth myself. I like to listen to thunderstorms and rain, piano music it helps me relax. I listen to it while I clean lol it helps me get the cleaning done faster and not be all upset cause I have to do it lol. I also go walking when its not too cold right now, in the summer I go everyday because its healthy for my heart and I want to keep my heart healthy. Great post!
