Through meditation the clear light of mind can be activated and experienced, through gaining control of the body functions, stopping gross mind and its thoughts. When conceptual thoughts cease during meditation, the mind returns to its natural state, unbiased, neither attracted nor repulsed by anything.
Very subtle consciousness goes life to life, not physical life, but a movement through time. Maybe this is what meditation is meant to be for; it allows us to reconnect with past and future, allowing our mind to make choices based on those events.
Look at what Buddhist believe in regards to the three levels of consciousness. While Christians believe in life after death as Heaven and Hell; Buddhist believe in a series of lives.
Once we have that meditation experience, once we have that control of our mind, we can use special techniques to activate very subtle consciousness. If we understand clear light of mind, we can begin to understand rebirth or reincarnation.
This is completely different from the Love and Kindness meditation that I covered previously. Love and Kindness meditation will help you develop patients and acceptance of what is happening around you and allow you to just be. Once you have practiced and put this into constant state in your body your aura will affect others in your presence.
Once you have been able to train your mind to still itself or have inner calm you can start to have control over your physical body and control your health or lack there of.

I think therefore I am....
Lindsey, Once again I really enjoyed your post. Your insights and information have really helped me along in this course. And great comment, I think therefore I am. I have always loved that quote. Thank you again for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLindsey,
ReplyDeleteYou always have the most detailed post! The different religious groups of the world have a similar belief in a higher calling/power but also contrast in their view of who's in charge and what is their will. The spiritual aspect of wellness definitely lays way for the physical and mental to be at one.
