Just the Beginning

The philosopher Descartes made his famous statement "I think, therefore I am. " While I live by this mantra I believe it would be amazing to have incredible liberation beyond the dreadful enslavement to incessant thinking. One day I will be completely in the moment of the now and stop talking about the future that I really know nothing about yet. Please read-------The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Even the first 20 Pages are life altering. I know that I am able to turn off my mind whenever I want to. It is an amazing talent. My mind doesn't use me unless I let it. I watch and listen to myself think and then make a choice for myself. The only things that truly matter to me are inner peace and if my children and I have it. I hope that via channeling love and kindness upon others that they will strive for inner peace for themselves too. The best thing that I have done for my children recently is opening their minds to the power of meditation and building their own ...

What Problems? I don't have any problems!

All problems are illusions of the mind. If you found yourself in paradise, it wouldn’t be long before your mind would say “yes, but…” Ultimately, this is not about solving your problems. It’s about realizing that there are no problems. There are only situations to be dealt with now or to be left alone and accepted as part of the present moment until they change or can be changed.
I Introduction: Why is it important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically? What areas do you need to develop to achieve the goals you have for yourself? As you understand what 'wellness' means, you will begin to realize that for society it is better to contribute to the common welfare of our community than to think only of ourselves. It's better to live in harmony with others and our environment than to live in conflict with them. If one has chosen to live in harmony with others and nature; then they shall pave the way for others to do the same. Essentially, one is leading by example. I believe that I live my life to the best that I can everyday and that I encourage the same of others. My goal is to always remember that we can always do something better; better for ourselves, better for humanity, and better for our planet. II Assessment: How have you assessed your health in each domain? How do you score your...
Guided meditations are an excellent way to bring balance to the mind and the body. Playing soft music or burning essential oils in the meditation area are great enhancements to the meditation itself. A successful guided meditation will clear the mind of outside influence and focus on the imagery provided. Positive affirmations may also be incorporated with guided meditations. The positive affirmation that I choose today and posted on my Facebook Wall was "I know that help is available for me to complete my dreams!" The Love and Kindness exercise is one of my personal favorites. I have practiced this one for quite awhile. I know that others know that I must participate in something like this because I am frequently asked how I can remain so calm, collected, and patient with others when I have this many children (I have four). I share with them, if they choose to have the time what it is that allows me this ability to ride the waves so smoothly.

This video sums it all up! "One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” Should say "One cannot lead another where one is not willing to go himself" Who ask for someone else's advise if they already don't feel like that person can more than adequately answer them anyways? Who would pay for the direction of a "quack" for very long? So not only do you have an obligation to your clients but also to be "whole" enough to sustain their loyalty; thus increasing your profitability. The love and kindness meditations are my personal favorite. I don't really like to use the so called "5 minute vacations" because they take me out of the here and now and leaving me wanting of a different life somewhere on that imagined beach. However, I do see the need for some people to take that mental vacation. I just suggested it to someone as an alternative to fighting with their partner. I suggested that they use this technique to calm ...
When you reflect upon your life, do you do so with ease and clarity or do you not reflect for fear of a mental breakdown? Dacher’s approach is to ask oneself a series of questions such as- “What aspect of my life—psycho-spiritual, biological, interpersonal, or worldly—is the source of difficulty and suffering?” Unless of course you don’t need to ask yourself these questions, because your need is so urgent and stressful. Then once one has verbalized to oneself the area of weakness then one should move forth to heal it, and then seek growth and development via meditation. I have followed the love and kindness meditation for several years now, and I try and critique my social interactions after meaningful encounters. I even try and think about how my actions affect the world-hence I use environmentally friendly products (cleaning agents and cloth diapers.) On a more personal note, after having four children, sometimes it is difficult to find the time and mental capacity to connect w...

Subtle Energy How to See and Feel Energy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_deT1lTtjM&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbLnGIMZngQ&feature=related  (note: I could see the aura around her head!) Through meditation the clear light of mind can be activated and experienced, through gaining control of the body functions, stopping gross mind and its thoughts. When conceptual thoughts cease during meditation, the mind returns to its natural state, unbiased, neither attracted nor repulsed by anything. Very subtle consciousness goes life to life, not physical life, but a movement through time. Maybe this is what meditation is meant to be for; it allows us to reconnect with past and future, allowing our mind to make choices based on those events. Look at what Buddhist believe in regards to the three levels of consciousness.   While Christians believe in life after death as Heaven and Hell; Buddhist believe in a series of lives. Once we have that meditation experience...
Have you ever watched the show The Balancing Act? This one shows a video on how you can think and breathe your way to a skinner body and better orgasms. http://www.hulu.com/watch/190272/the-balancing-act-the-balancing-act-thinks-your-way-into-sexual-satisfaction-and-weight-loss?c=Health-and-Wellness#s-p1-so-i0 Now think of this. That extra oxygen you gifted your body with is now moving through your bloodstream, slightly increasing your flow, and getting rid of excess waste and fat. All that in a matter of seconds! Keep lying on the floor, bed, or couch, and practice a little more. Get used to how deep breathing feels. Close your eyes and sense the rhythm of the deep breath you're taking. Memorize it, Relax and Just Do It! It’s called Oxycise and these are some recent claims: . . . a simple, powerful diaphragmatic breathing technique combined with flexing and contracting of all muscle groups.  This increases cell oxygenation throughout the entire body and thereby weight loss....

Mental Workout

Brain: an apparatus with which we use to think. -Ambrose Bierce Some great ways to exercise your brain are: doing more writing, read a book instead of watching T.V., solve puzzles, play card games, memorize items such as grocery list, poems, or bible verse’s, never stop educating yourself by taking adult continuing education classes in an area of interest and try computer memory games. Even the Iphone has applications for daily mental workouts. Because if you don’t use it, you lose it! Mental calisthenics increases neuron connections, this leads to the faster functioning speed of the brain and the more intellectually stimulating output for others to ponder, thus stimulating their neurons too. Help yourself to help others be smarter!
Love and Kindness Only once you fully love yourself can you truly love and respect others. With the practice of loving-kindness meditation, you are sure to become a more compassionate, kind, accepting and patient individual. As your energy touches those whom you meditate upon, their lives, too, will improve, even if it is only for a moment in time. Create a mental image of yourself and picture yourself smiling, laughing or simply being filled with joy. Repeat a personal mantra, or self affirmation statement. Feel love and kindness more with each breath you take. First fill yourself with love and kindness, and then think about a close family member or friend, next think about someone you know, and then focus on a person for whom you feel ill will towards. For each of these people you will send positive energy. The more you feel love and kindness, the more you will be able to radiate it to others. The most important part of breathing in someone else’s bad feelings is that you dissolve ...

I just finished with a relaxation exercise titled The Crime of the Century  http://www.kushs.net/kaplan/HW420/TheCrimeOfTheCentury.mp3 . This the first time I have used audio clues from a CD to visulize my chakras? Although I have used a Reiki guide to stimulate my chakras before and I experinced a far greater benefits that way than just doing it myself with a CD. I was able to see my heart, throat, third eye and crown clearly. While others like my root, sacral, and solar plexis are usually the ones that I show the biggest amount of sadness during. For me, acknowledging the sadness and tring to let it go is what I have worked on and off for about 12 years. What colors did you see or not see? Do you know what the connection is to your body, mind, and spirit as you were asked to visulize those colors? Try out this quiz to find out more about your chakras http://www.eclecticenergies.com/chakras/chakratest.php You might also enjoy mixing some aromatherapy...
